SOFIA MUSA

Sofia’s work is strongly characterized by a rich contrast in color and a contemplative approach to portraiture. Her process is both methodical and hectic, a structural composition that allows for spontaneity in color and texture. To Sofia, the act of making art is meditative, a way to distance herself from an issue and observe it from the outside. Due to the nature of her approach, her work is extremely personal; with themes such as femininity, sexuality and immigration. There are also strong cultural ties in her work to Argentina, the country she immigrated from and regularly visits.
