We are OPEN for submissions (Jan 15-25).

You can support us by reading our issues, donating to our GoFundMe page, or following us on social media. We were a paying publication for a while but found it unsustainable amidst other costs. We will pay ISSUE 14 contributors but following that, we’ll be taking a pause from payments and seek your understanding.

Expedited Response OR Detailed Feedback

We offer 3-day responses. If you wish to receive an expedited response or detailed feedback, please contribute to our fundraiser: https://www.gofundme.com/f/lumierereview.
$5 or more: Expedited Response in 3 days or less.
PLEASE include EXPEDITED in the subject line of the email so that we can give your submission the care it needs!
* Note that feedback is not available for the near future.

General Submissions

Click here for submission tips, including tips on cover letters, biographies, and keeping track of submissions. Everyone is welcome to submit poetry, prose, and art. Check out our past issues to get a better idea of what we like.

Our response time ranges from 3 days to 6 weeks.

Email your submissions to [email protected] with subject line: Genre – Name. Genres include “Poetry,” “Fiction,” “Nonfiction,” “Art” etc. For example, POETRY – John Doe or FICTION – John Doe. Failure to follow this format may result in your submission being lost in our inbox. Please include a cover letter and short biography in the body of the email.

Attach written submissions in a single PDF or Word document (but genre should be in separate emails) and all artwork as JPEG or PNG files. Please name the file as the title(s) of your piece(s). NO identifying information (such as names, contact info) should be included in the attachments. You may submit across multiple genres in separate emails.

We instantly reject explicit submissions that contain racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, NSFW, etc. ideas. Neither do we have any tolerance for plagiarized work. Just don’t. Please. Include content warnings if applicable.

Simultaneous submissions and previously published work are encouraged. We ask that you let us know if a piece is accepted by replying to the original submission email.

Upon acceptance, you agree to grant us first North American serial and electronic rights (if not previously published). Following publication, all rights return back to you. If you are submitting previously published work as permissible by the original publication, please provide us with details.
