WELCOME to Issue 04!

The Lumiere Review is growing—we’re celebrating our first birthday in a matter of days. As such, there are so many people I’d like to thank. First, thank YOU for stepping foot into issue 04. Thank you to all forty-one contributors, to the thousands of submitters, to my fellow staff members who flowered this issue with love and care, and to our guest judges Yanyi, Cathy, and Elle who selected a magnificent list of finalists and winners for our writing contest.

Despite the tumultuous winter, Issue 04 is a vessel of hope. It is the first sunrise of spring, twinkling eyes, a flickering bulb that will reignite the fervor and excitement in your lives. Here, you’ll find stories of godhood and girlhood, flightless birds, and shadows of bodies engulfed by ghosts. Stories that will drench you in its luminescence, then become your source of light.

It’s time to dig through issue 04. We’ll see you at the other side of the universe.
